Long time no see....

WARNING LONG POST.....
I have neglected my poor blog and I mean I have neglected it horribly. Well alot has happened since my last post. Our beautiful baby "E" was born and boy are we in love. She is way more than anything we could have ever asked for. She is our sunshine and our laughter. I know that sounds so sappy but I never could have imagined life to be as wonderful as this. She was born Dec 31st and weighed 6 lbs 12 oz at 18 inches long. I was in labor for 17 hours when they decided to take her by c-section. It was a long day but to hear her for the first time. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. We truly are so very very blessed. As I am typing this I am filled with emotion. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her.

She is extremely bright and has been the most amazing baby. She slept extremely well through the night and continues to sleep from 10pm to 8am. She LOVES food and loves to look in the mirror. She is excited when she hears music and when she hears her daddy sing to her especially "Heart of Life" by John Mayer. At 6 months she is trying to crawl, she loves being outside and around people. She know how to get what she wants and sometimes feels the need to express it through tantrums.


She took her first trip with me to St. Louis to see her Nomie and Papi for two whole weeks. When we came home we then drove to Vegas to see her Grammie Pammy and Grandpa. She is a great traveler but is not fond of her carseat if the car isn't moving. "E" also knows what she likes and only wants what she likes. She has two fleece blankets and they are the only ones she sleeps with and she always has to have it one her face to fall asleep. When she was four months old she figured out how to turn on her mobile in the middle of the night. Also at 4 months her first tooth on the bottom showed up and then at the end of that month she had two. "E" is bald bald bald and has the prettiest blue eyes with a smile from ear to ear.

She only fusses when she is tired and hungry other than that she is happy and a jay bird on a beautiful morning. She always smiles too when I sing "good morning, good morning" from singing in the rain. If fact that was her first play and she watched it all the way through. Her only auntie was in it. She also loves TV and movies. Her favorite movie is "Jonah the Veggie Tales" and she has seen in theater I might add "Toy Story 3" and "Dispicable Me". Did I mention that she is now 20 plus pounds and 25 inches long. Her new favorite thing is to skype with her grands:)

A bit behind

OK OK so I know I should have been writing more about this pregnancy. Yes I admit I am a bit behind. Well to update... I am now 17 weeks!! I am not going to lie, up until about week 13 it was pretty hard for me. I never felt like myself and I was sick and annoyed most of the time it was like really bad PMS with throwing up (sorry TMI) Well, I am doing better and I promise I will get some growing belly pics up soon. It's crazy how time has gone by so fast. I am really starting to get excited and it is starting to feel more real. I feel a bit more mama bearish if that makes any sense. Also last night was the first time I actually felt my little one :) It felt so surreal. It was only like little air bubbles or the butterfly feeling but it was there. I had been praying for it cause I was getting a bit worried. The little one officially does not like me laying on my tummy anymore, which to me will be hard to do but being that I get a little side pain while laying on my tummy after the little one warns me by bubbles may change that fast. Mr. Dasso is more excited everyday. The baby has been already on several trips. One to New Mexico for my Rodriguez Family reunion, several trips to the G-pas in Vegas and to the Beach in Huntington and it's very first concert - none other than COLDPLAY of course. That was interesting b/c during the concert my tummy would tighten, it wasn't uncomfortable or anything just funny. Mr. Dasso says its because the little one already knows what good music is :) We have purchased a Crib already and now are just looking for a home with an extra bedroom for baby. It sure is amazing this gift to be able to grow life in the middle of living mine.I seem so busy lately between, school and rehersal for this upcoming play. I am excited to be a mama, even though I have some fears of it I know that the Lord will help me push those away and be the best mama I can be.
PS we find out the little ones gender on Aug 19th!!! Then real preparations can begin.

A Blessing that will change our lives forever

Yesterday just so happened to be a day that I've prayed would happen my entire life and thought it would go a certain way but it's amazing the perspective it gives you when you realize timing is all in Heavenly Fathers Hands. I've always known that but its the little blessing that pop out of no where when you least expect it that help you remember Our Father in Heaven is there and very aware. Yesterday I found out that Mr. Dasso and I our expecting. What a gift, a blessing, and a joy to sing about. I knew the entire day but didn't tell Mr. Dasso until the evening b/c he was in finals all day and of course I wasn't going to tell him over text or anything like that. I needed that big hug he gave me when he opened up his present that contained a small onesie that said "I love my Daddy". I am excited but have kept that excitement contained until I know all is safe and secure. I have my first of many appointments on May 11Th. I will say I am a bit nervous and on worthy to be a mother but am honor to have this blessing. All I pray is that this child will grow up healthy and strong and also a example of his/her Savior. How blessed we are for this blessing that will change our lives forever.

Bambi shouldnt have done it

So at first I wasn't going to blog about this nerve shaking experience but my cousin Tyf thought it would be a good blog. The other day as I was off to work on a rainy morning I was enjoying my ride just listening to the radio and wishing a bit that i was still warmly nuzzled and asleep next to Mr. Dasso, and the all the sudden as though it was just dropped out of the ski i see these little black beady eyes starring at me on the right side of my car as though she was thinking "lady what the heck are you doing?" I realized then as I was driving my 50 mph vehicle (it was the speed limit BTW) that i was going to hit this deer and it could do serious damage so what did i do you ask with my cat like reflexes? I SWERVED!! I know I know they say don't do that cause you can cause a bigger accident but all I could think of is that I do NOT want this thing coming through my front windshield and killing me. I will say though I only swerved into the middle median which is intended for turning purposes, however now I'm thinking its really there for incidences like this because the road is so close to the mouth of the canyon and people know that people react as I did. Besides its a natural reaction right, to move if something is going to hit you? Well anyways off my soapbox it happened that I swerved enough that the poor deer only hit my side mirror and knocking the mirror part out and she slid across the side of my car leaving behind lovely chunks of fur in the part of the window where the rubber meets. I frantically pulled over and got out of my car i noticed that the deer had gotten up and ran away however I still felt horrible and realized I had NO idea if i need to call the police so I tried to call my husband and mind way through the dialing remembered he had left his phone at the boys house. I called 5 out of the 6 boys and no answer so I called my sister and by this time I was so frustrated I was crying so hard that my sleeping sister had a difficult time understanding me. She later told me that she at first only understood through my weeping words Hit with car - Rob cant call - don't know what to do. She later brought me flowers at work which indeed made my day. THANK YOU MY FAVORITE SISTER!! Needless to say I got to work safely and took down the deer calender that so lovely hung near my desk (NOT BY MY DOING DID IT HANG THERE) and got a hug from a sympathetic colleague and took deep breathes. Boy it was a day because my camera died to when i went to go take pictures my damages for my car but Que va ser. I just wish Bambi would have know that she shouldn't have done it we all would have had a better day.

To the future first child of my womb

I come upon this oh so lovely lamp that i pray one day (not so future) will one day grace the nursery of my first child. I found it at Anthropolgie, a place I often go in but hardly ever purchase anything because of the pricey things and the lack of cash i carry (for temptations such as this). So one day, future first child of my womb you will be able to have this adorable masterpiece in your room whether you are an Ezra or an Ella I will save my pennies just for you even if your father thinks I'm crazy because "its just a lamp."

OH OH OH maybe even this one if I decide to go with more vibrate colors :)
